WikiLeaks has released more than 2,000 emails it says are from Clinton campaign chair John Podesta’s personal email account.
The Daily Caller reported:
The organization, which has been accused of acting in concert with Russian hackers, claims to have 50,000 emails in total from Podesta’s Gmail account but released just 2,050 of them on Friday.
Hillary Clinton’s new personal email account is copied on a handful of emails, none of which reveal anything damning.
The Daily Caller’s investigative team is pouring over the remaining emails.
Many of the emails are about campaign activities, including one in which Podesta suggests Clinton respond to the 11-hour hearing in front of the House Benghazi Committee by making fun of Republican Congressman Trey Gowdy’s appearance.
“I used to be obsessed with Donald Trump’s hair, that was until I got to spend 11 hours staring at the top of Trey Gowdy’s head,” Podesta suggested Clinton say. Other members of the campaign quickly shot down that idea.
The email dump comes the same day that the State Department released an additional 270 emails sent or received by Clinton during her time as secretary of state.
On Thursday, the website DCLeaks released thousands of emails from Capricia Marshall, who worked under Clinton at the State Department and is an influential member of Clinton’s inner circle.
