Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump invited some people with a very unique and unfortunate story to join him on stage at a rally in Orange County, California.
“They’re unbelievable, they’ve suffered. These are great people.” Said Trump, “They’ve lost loved ones to illegal immigration.”
Trump asked Jamiel Shaw Sr to the stage to speak about how he lost his son one night who was going to college on a scholarship. The younger Shaw was only just around the corner from home when he was murdered.
Shaw described that for the first time since his son died in 2008, he has real hope because of what he believes Donald Trump will do to solve the immigration problem. He said “When I saw Trump and what he said, for the first time it gave me real hope, real change, it gave me something to hope for, because we know, we know what Trump is going to do.”
“He’s going to do everything he says,” Shaw continued. “That’s why everybody is so scared of him.”
“Changes are coming. Changes are coming.”
Shaw painfully described how he was waiting for his son to come home and he heard a gun go off nearby and how his son was shot in the head by “an illegal alien on his third gun charge. His third gun charge. And he’d never been deported.”
Shaw said, “That’s not fair to Americans. We demand Americans first. We don’t care about illegal aliens. Americans first. First things first. That’s why Donald Trump is here.”
Trump thanked Shaw as the spokesman for the group and acknowledged all the people who had joined him onstage.
“They all have a very similar story to tell,” he said. “People that shouldn’t have been here, people that should have never been allowed to come over the border and they come here like its nothing, they walk through it like its nothing.”
He responded to the chanting crowd. “We’re going to stop it and we’re going to build a wall.”
