Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump laid into Bernie Sanders during an appearing on Fox News’s “Hannity” late Monday night.
In an interview that aired shortly after Sanders wrapped up his prime-time address to the Democratic convention, Trump accused the Vermont senator of losing his mojo.
“Bernie Sanders has lost his energy, he’s lost his drive. … I think he’s totally exhausted, but I think his supporters are not exhausted and his supports are liking what I’m saying int arms of trade … and lots of other things,” Trump said.
“I think Bernie’s giving up, and you know, the sad thing is if he didn’t give up he really would have left a legacy. But now … he did all that work for nothing.”
Trump also used the interview to attack presumptive Democratic nominee Hillary Clinton’s running mate, Virginia Sen. Tim Kaine, saying he’s “like the worst person she could have chosen.”
Trump said she could have done better to woo Sanders’s supporters to her campaign.
