Author of “Adios America” and avid Donald Trump supporter, Ann Coulter, blasted the Republican leadership in the House of Representative, especially Speaker of the House Paul Ryan.
In a panel discussion of the upcoming meeting between Donald Trump and Speaker Ryan, the panel participants speculated over the meeting’s objectives.
Washington Post national political reporter, Robert Costa, said, “They hope to come to some kind of consensus of what the party’s principles are and whether there can be agreement on that moving forward. And by that I mean there’s not going to be a heavy discussion on policy. This isn’t about litmus tests. This isn’t about whether they can agree on immigration and trade. It’s whether they can have unity.”
Coulter laughed when the comment was made that the establishment seems to not pay attention when Trump makes policy-related statements.
She explained why felt Trump should be treated as The Conqueror by Washington.
Coulter said, “Trump is being unbelievably gracious. He doesn’t need to have this meeting. He is the party. He is the heart and soul of the party. And I think he could have just said, ‘Hope he comes aboard. We’re going to have a lot of fun. But if he doesn’t, oh well.’ … But the people are with him and there’s no point in meeting with these generals without armies.”
Or, perhaps Trump is NOT the ‘heart and soul of the party’ because the Republican party itself is not even a variant of its former self and Trump represents something new and different.
Coulter is writing a new book due out this summer: “In Trump We Trust.”
