AN ANGRY crowd at the Republican National Convention screamed “lock her up” and “guilty” as Hillary Clinton’s career was brutally torn apart.
New Jersey Governor Chris Christie whipped the Republican National Convention into a frenzy as he staged a mock trial of the likely Democratic presidential candidate.
On Tuesday night it was officially confirmed Donald Trump would be the Republican nominee for the autumn election.
“She fights for the wrong people, she never fights for us,” Governor Christie jeered.
He accused Mrs Clinton of lying “over and over again” to the American people.
“Over the last eight years we have seen this administration fail to hold her to account for her record as Secretary of State.
“We didn’t disqualify Hillary Clinton to be President of the United States – the facts of her life and her career disqualify her.
“It is time to come together and make sure that Donald Trump is the next president of the United States.”
Governor Christie’s speech was interrupted at one point by the capacity crowd in Cleveland yelling “lock her up, lock her up”.
Mrs Clinton has faced intense criticism and scrutiny over a scandal involving her using a personal email server to handle classified communications while she was Secretary of State.
Mr Trump, the billionaire businessman who has never held public office before, was announced as the Republican candidate after last-ditch attempts to replace him on the ticket failed.
