Editors at the Huffington Post found themselves the target of derision and ridicule over a post which was supposed to highlight their diversity but which actually achieved the exact opposite.
Huffington Post executive editor Liz Heron posted the photo on Friday and posed the question, “Notice anything about this @HuffingtonPost editors meeting?”
Notice anything about this @HuffingtonPost editors meeting?
As it turns out, many people did. Several of the news website’s conservative critics mockingly noted the lack of ethnic — and gender — diversity at the meeting.
Where were the African Americans? Where were the men? How is a room full of young women, some of whom look barely out of college, diverse? Does diverse to Huffington Post mean Women?

The Twitter backlash was immediate:
.@lheron I was told that inferring gender identity based on physical characteristics was the height of bigotry, intolerance. How dare you.
