So it seems that President Obama does agree with Donald Trump that building big tall walls and fences is a good thing to keep people out that try to get in when they’re not invited. There have been a series of incidents of late where jumpers have scaled the White House fence and entered its grounds. In response, the Secret Service announced the plan last week to raise the White House fence by 5 feet, as a way to keep the intruders at bay.
On hearing of this, Donald Trump taunted Obama on Facebook, mocking the plan to install a higher fence around the White House.
Trump drew parallels between the plans to raise the White House fence by five feet and his own plan to build a wall along the Mexican border.
‘President Obama understands that you build strong, tall, beautiful walls to keep people out who don’t belong,’ Trump wrote on his Facebook page, linking to a news story on the fence plan. ‘People who get permission can enter the White House LEGALLY!’
The fence will incorporate new features including security upgrades and sensors to track trespassers as well as the increase in height six feet to over 11 feet. The design was submitted publicly to U.S. Commission of Fine Arts on Thursday. Changes should be installed by fiscal year 2018.
What a great idea. Build a wall to keep people from illegally entering an area they have to right to be.
